Offering at-home euthanasia of cats and dogs by a licensed veterinarian.
Compassionate care when you need it most. We treat pets like family.
If you are visiting this site, you are likely faced with the difficult task of making end-of-life decisions for your beloved cat or dog. You are probably wondering how to know if it is the "right time", and, above all, hoping to avoid any unnecessary suffering for your pet. Whether your pet has an untreatable debilitating disease or is just very, very old, euthanasia can be a kind way to end the pain they are experiencing. If you feel euthanasia is the best option for your cat or dog at this time, Dr. Jennifer Steketee can help make it as peaceful and gentle as possible by coming to your home and helping your pet pass with you by his or her side.
Please read through our site for useful information about how to know when euthanasia might be the best choice for your pet, what to expect during the euthanasia process, and options regarding aftercare (burial, cremation, etc.).
If you have questions about our services or want to make an appointment, please call us at (505) 471-4596 or email us at info@buenavidavet.com.
About Dr. Jennifer Steketee: Dr. Steketee was in
private small animal practice for nearly a decade before briefly
leaving the field to pursue other interests. She has also worked with
local animal shelters and been involved in various wildlife projects.
Dr. Steketee has lost two of her own pets to old age in recent years
and helped many of her close friends deal with end-of-life decisions
for their pets, giving her personal experience with the stress and
emotion involved in this difficult process. She is a lifelong animal lover and enjoys spending time with her 3 cats and 2 dogs (and her husband, too).
